In my piece, Pop Sugar Skull, I used procreate to digitally paint an inspiration from Calavera’s used in Mexican culture to celebrate DÃa de Muertos (Day of the Dead). As an individual who is half Mexican, I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of my culture and pay homage to its beauty. Furthermore, I wanted to incorporate this tradition with the colourful pop art style that fuels my personal work.Â
