Outlet is a vibrant GIF that I digitally painted and animated using Adobe Photoshop. It features the silhouette of a woman’s face and is filled with rhythmic psychedelic patterns that are loosely inspired by thermal photography and plasma lamps. The bombarding colours, patterns, and motions in this piece express how being alone with one’s thoughts and feelings can get overwhelming at times. During isolation, the topic of mental health has become increasingly relevant and it has become more important than ever to find a safe outlet to release anxiety, negative emotions, and imagination.
