Stalks of a Caladium

Birthed in an ocean of horse-brier's

Berries, by the cerise pot of Uncle Sam's

Mother, twinkling like lantern flies.

With Algol in our pie, beholding bipeds

Of the feral blue yon, drowning nightmares

Of rainbows in bobbing fiberboards.

Trails of Himalaya Butte unfolding

As we espy bachelor’s button blaze

Ejecting sticky fetus of duck egg.

We’re stalks of a caladium, tied

Together with the hale string of nature’s

Nucleus, sheening like black-eyed Susan.
